Elba Island (Isola d'Elba) covers an area of 224 square km. It is the biggest island of the Tuscan Archipelago. It offers a great variety of landscapes: a crystal clear sea, sand beaches, green and exclusive gulfs, steep cliffs... and shadowy woods. There are several small villages on the island, from those on the sea coast shore to those located on the heights. A cable car can take you directly to the high peak of Mount Capanne (1019 meters). Marciana Marina with its modern port is located on the north-west coast
of the island.
It is a charming little town on the seashore. It is an old port, once used
as a safe shelter for fishing-boats and now as a touristic port.
It is 18 Km away from Portoferraio (the main town on the island) and can be
reached following a panoramic road, driving along a wonderful sheer shore.
