Main research interests:
1.Observation and theoretical modelling of the ISM in the nearest spiral galaxies, M31 and M33, and of the star formation process, from gas accretion to the birth of Young Stellar Clusters. Evolution of the ISM during cosmic times and as a function of the environment.
2.Dark matter and disk dynamics: test of cosmological models through the determination of the dark matter density in the center and in the outermost regions of late type galaxies. Numerical simulations of dark matter halos and disks during galaxy encounters. Disk instabilities and feedback processes in isolated galaxies, as triggers of star formation and morphological features.
