SHAKTI P. DUGGAL AWARD
During the 28th International Cosmic Ray Conference (ICRC) in Tsukuba, Japan (July 31-August 7 2003), I was honored to receive the Shakti P. Duggal Award for my work on Cosmic Rays. The award is given every two years to a young scientist working in the field of Cosmic Ray Physics and is awarded by the Commission IV (Cosmic Rays) of the International Union for Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).
The award was started after the premature death of
Prof. Duggal, in 1982.
The first award was won by R. Protheroe and was delivered
to him during
the 19th ICRC at La Jolla, in 1985.
Here are some photos taken during the Award Ceremony held on July 31 2003 and during the welcome banquet to the 28th ICRC in Tsukuba.
