Blowin’ in the wind: both `positive’ and `negative’ feedback in a z~1.6 QSO

Research:

Galaxy evolution and high-redshift galaxies:
	•	The Fundamental Metallicity Relation and the metallicity evolution in the Universe
	•	Outflows and feedback in active galaxies with MUSE and SINFONI Integral Field Spectroscopy
  •      AMAZE (Assessing the Mass Aboundance redshift-Z Evolution) and LSD,(Lyman-break galaxies Stellar populations and Dynamics): two italian projects aimed at studying dynamical an chemical evolution at redshift z>3, using integral field spectroscopy with SINFONI@VLT, multi object observation with LUCIFER@LBT,  and XSHOOTER@VLT
 	•	SINS: the high redshift galaxy Spectroscopic Imaging survey in the Near-IR with SINFONI at the VLT,  a project to study the dynamical properties of galaxy at z~2.2, in collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Extraterrestrische Physick, Garching
	•	SWAN: Survey of a Wide Area with NACO: an Adaptive Optics assisted imaging survey in the near-IR - Ph.D. Thesis: "Galaxy Morphology and Star Formation with Adaptive Optics" (in english, PDF)

Adaptive-optics observations and AO data reduction techniques:
	•	Accounting for the anisoplanatic point spread function in deep wide-field adaptive optics images
	•	Star Formation in quasars with Adaptive Optics

Supernovae and SN rates:
	•	High-z supernova search with LBC
	•	KAOSS Project - K-band Arcetri Obscured Supernova Search

Star formation in local Blue Dwarf Galaxies:
	•      Integral field spectroscopic survey of Blue Dwarf Galaxies with SINFONI
	•	Imaging study of the super star clusters population in  NGC 5253 - ESO press release and A&A cover

Main Instrumentation Projects:
	•      Collaboration with ESA in the calibration of  NIRspec, the multi-object spectrograph for the space telescope JWST
 	•      Member of the ERIS (the next generatioon IR IFU and AO camera for the VLT) science team
 	•      Part of the MOONS (multi-object NIR spectrometer for the VLT) and HIRES (the high resolution spectrograph for E-ELT) development team in Arcetri
 	•      Collaboratioon to the science verification of LUCI (the near IR camera and spectrograph for the LBT) and PISCES (AO camera at the LBT)
