The proceedings of the Conference will be published by Cambridge University
Press.
The volume will be edited by R. Cesaroni, E. Churchwell, M. Felli, and C.M. Walmsley.
Instructions for the preparation of your paper contribution:
1. Deadline for paper submission:
It is a policy of the IAU and Cambridge University Press that Symposium Proceedings be ready for submission to the Press no later than three months after the symposium and the final proceedings must be ready for the press by 6 months after the symposium. We hence request you to prepare your written contribution before the meeting and submit it as explained below at point 4. Minor modifications will still be possible within a maximum of 30 days after the symposium. Please notice that no further delay will be possible, so that revised contributions that will be submitted after the final deadline of June 14, 2005 will not appear in the proceedings.
2. How to retrieve the publisher macro files:
Instructions for authors, style files, and examples can be downloaded from
ftp://ftp.sron.nl/pub/karelh/UPLOADS/IAU-CUP.dir/authors.dir/
or from
http://www.arcetri.astro.it/iaus227/authors.dir.zip
Read in particular the README.txt file for general information. The easiest way to prepare your contribution is to download and unzip file authors.dir.zip which creates a subdirectory named authors.dir with all the relevant files. Then edit the template file SampSymp.tex which contains an example for IAU Symposia - do NOT use file SampColl.tex which is to be used only for IAU Colloquia!
3. Preparing the manuscript:
The proceedings will contain all oral presentations. Poster presentations will be advertised in a list at the end of the book and made available on the IAUS227 web page. The maximum number of pages is 10 for invited presentations and 6 for contributed presentations.
The proceedings will be included in your registration fee, however inclusion of color figures for the printed version will have to be an additional charge (500 English Pound per page) to the author or appear in grayscale.
4. How to send the manuscript:
For easy processing of your contribution, we ask you to send all your files in one gzipped tar file, named with the last name (surname) and initials (e.g. einstein_a.tar.gz) of the first author of the manuscript. The tar file should contain the following files: lastname_initials.ps (your contribution in postscript format), lastname_initials.tex (the LaTeX file with your contribution), lastname_initials_fig1.eps, lastname_initials_fig2.eps, etc. etc. (the postscript files with your figures). Place the gzipped tar file on the anonymous account of the ftp site according to this example:
ftp ftp.arcetri.astro.it
(username) anonymous
(password) youremail@yoursite
(ftp.arcetri.astro.it) binary
(ftp.arcetri.astro.it) cd pub/incoming/iaus227/proceedings/
(ftp.arcetri.astro.it) put lastname_initials.tar.gz (e.g. einstein_a.tar.gz)
(ftp.arcetri.astro.it) bye
Once done, please send an email to iaus227@arcetri.astro.it. You will receive confirmation after receipt of your files.
