Raffaella Schneider

I am a research astronomer at the Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri. I work within the Extragalactic Group in cosmology and
the high redshift Universe. My main research interests are on the nature of the first stars, their preferential sites of formation
and their impact on the overall evolution of the Universe through reionization and metal enrichment. I am also working on the
formation and destruction of dust grains produced in supernova explosions, the dominant dust sources at redshift greater
than 6, and on their observational signatures in high redshift quasars and local supernova remnants.
If you want to know more about my research interests and collaborations, visit the web site of DAVID: the Dark Ages Virtual
Department.
