USEFUL INFORMATION

Pisa is located in Tuscany, 10  Km off the Tyrrhenian Coast, along the river Arno, and is famous in the world for its leaning tower. The weather is mild in winter and warm in the summer, with a breeze often blowing from the sea.
Pisa is easily reached by plane (Pisa International Airport, Florence International Airport), and by train from the main cities in Italy and Europe (Ferrovie dello Stato). Furthermore, Pisa is approximately less than one hour by train or car from some of the most charming art cities in Tuscany: Florence, Lucca, Volterra and about 2 hours from Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo. Proximity to the Thyrrenian Sea has favoured the development of renowned summer resorts. such as Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia (20 minutes by car or bus from the centre of Pisa) - quite nice sandy beaches which may represent a relaxing stop while visiting the nearby artistic and historic places of interest.
